Karen - Call me Freaking Goldilocks - Day 100 From Burbank

I'm really sore from all the stairs and miles walking.

My tree gave me lots of lemons yesterday.

2 cups of coffee (no sugar)
And a lemon butter crepe. Delicious.

Walked Ernie with 4. Actually we marched.

4 and Hubby are inventing things while I go do 80 flights of stairs.

Once home, 4 and I went for an hour long bike ride. We ended up at the library, checked out some books then played at the park.

Home for lunch. Artichoke and a hot dog. The hot dog had no nitrates.

I really just want to take a nap but I did my 8 mile walk then home for this tiny size serving of steak stew Hubby made yesterday and a little baguette.

At the beginning of The French Skinny Experiment, the Papa bowl on the left was my portion size. Then I moved on to the Momma size one in the middle. Now I'm eating out of a ramekin.
Call me Freaking Goldilocks. Mmmmmm that's just right! Whatever. I'm a little angry. Can you tell?

Later on I had a couple pieces of dark chocolate.

I was so hungry I couldn't sleep. I had some popcorn. Then a little cheese. Then more cheese.

It's only day 2 and I'm starting to rethink the New, New Plan of 8miles and 80 flights a day.

Meanwhile, my friend, Zanymad has a new blog! It's fun, it's pretty and she says really sweet things about me so go check her out.

Day 100 from France:
Missing Paris

Shaboom
sends us her update from Paris SoCal...

We all know we shouldn't write about work on our blogs (thanks Dooce!) so since my current project takes up most of my day, I'm going to have a hard time not writing about this client and how crazy she makes me in those times when our relationship goes beyond lunching and/or cocktails.

Therefore, I've decided to post photos I took in France for the next month as a sort of count-down to my return to Paris. I hope you'll enjoy!!

Karen - Day 99 From Burbank - The New, New Plan.....

Wake up slowly.
2 cups of coffee.

I had a long conversation with Shaboom about my frustration. She said that she does a lot of sight seeing and sometimes walks 8 miles a day and walks up and down 80 flights of stairs.

Okey Dokey. That's my new deal.

80 flights of stairs. Check!
Now I'm starving.

Crepe! I haven't made any in a long time.

The first was a crepe fail.Which my dog enjoyed immensely.

The second crepe was jalepeno chedder cheese with ham and habonara hot sauce.
I love spicy. So don't try this unless you like to sweat. I told Shaboom that I'm forgoing the bechemel sauce for awhile. It's just too rich for me when it's hot.
I made 4 a regular chedder cheese and ham crepe.

4 and I get on our bikes and go to the mailbox a few blocks away. He loves putting them in the mailbox. Then we bike ride to the bank where all the people that work there know him and have either cookies or candy for him.
It's really hot at this point so we ride home for lunch. Fresh baguette with cheese and ham.

I let 4 watch one show before we head out again and he fell asleep. I thought the naps were over. I finally stopped fighting it and now he's taking one on his own.
An hour later he called for me to rock him in the rocking chair. We both fell asleep for another hour.

Hubby came home and 4 woke up. I headed out the door for my 8 mile walk.

I have to say that it's really hard to do this bumped up version.

When I came back from my walk Hubby had made some delicious steak stew from scratch. I had some fresh baguette with butter to go with it.
I'm using smaller dishes as part of my new French Skinny plan. Shaboom clearly eats small portions.

Dessert was a couple Advil.

I have been sleeping very well.

Day 99 from France:
Not Leaving LA Yet

Shaboom
sends us her update from Paris SoCal...

I just picked up another freelance gig which will keep me here for 3 more weeks or so. I'm thrilled to make some more money, my friends are ecstatic that I'm staying longer... the only person not happy is Obsessed!

"Cherie, first it was 3 weeks, then an extra week, now an extra month... 8 weeks total. If you're going to extend your trip any longer, don't bother calling to tell me unless you want me to show up in LA in order to personally drag your butt back to Paris!"

He takes everything to the extreme. Love him and honestly... kind of miss the crazy crêpe man. I don't know what'll happen next but Paris, tu me manques!

Karen - Weigh In Week 14- The Flowers Dare You To Complain

Goal: Lose 35 pounds in 6 months the French Skinny Way.
Lost this week: 1 pound
Total lost so far: 15 pounds

The scale moved one pound this week. I'm never going to meet my goal at this rate.
Off to Grandma Dee's house.

It's Rosalie's birthday. We take her to breakfast.
Fresh orange juice.

A delicious latte.

Freshly baked muffin.

Dessert. Yum.

Time spent in Mom's garden.
It's my healing garden.

No one cares if you have met your goal for the week.

Or if the laundry is done.

It just gives you beautiful tomatoes.

In all shapes and sizes.

The Hummingbirds don't care if you are sad or not.

The flowers dare you to complain.

By the time I leave, I have a new plan.
It's time to talk to Shaboom and see what I'm doing wrong.
