Karen - Day 99 From Burbank - The New, New Plan.....

Wake up slowly.
2 cups of coffee.

I had a long conversation with Shaboom about my frustration. She said that she does a lot of sight seeing and sometimes walks 8 miles a day and walks up and down 80 flights of stairs.

Okey Dokey. That's my new deal.

80 flights of stairs. Check!
Now I'm starving.

Crepe! I haven't made any in a long time.

The first was a crepe fail.Which my dog enjoyed immensely.

The second crepe was jalepeno chedder cheese with ham and habonara hot sauce.
I love spicy. So don't try this unless you like to sweat. I told Shaboom that I'm forgoing the bechemel sauce for awhile. It's just too rich for me when it's hot.
I made 4 a regular chedder cheese and ham crepe.

4 and I get on our bikes and go to the mailbox a few blocks away. He loves putting them in the mailbox. Then we bike ride to the bank where all the people that work there know him and have either cookies or candy for him.
It's really hot at this point so we ride home for lunch. Fresh baguette with cheese and ham.

I let 4 watch one show before we head out again and he fell asleep. I thought the naps were over. I finally stopped fighting it and now he's taking one on his own.
An hour later he called for me to rock him in the rocking chair. We both fell asleep for another hour.

Hubby came home and 4 woke up. I headed out the door for my 8 mile walk.

I have to say that it's really hard to do this bumped up version.

When I came back from my walk Hubby had made some delicious steak stew from scratch. I had some fresh baguette with butter to go with it.
I'm using smaller dishes as part of my new French Skinny plan. Shaboom clearly eats small portions.

Dessert was a couple Advil.

I have been sleeping very well.

  1. Good luck with the new, new plan, Karen! Eighty flights of stairs, though?! Pffft. I couldn't do it.

See, this is the thing about living in the 'burbs here -- you can't really walk anywhere or do any good sight seeing, particularly in my area in the 'burbs of Chicago. I don't even have sidewalks around here. Maddening.

  3. wow...8 miles/89 flights of stairs...that would be tough for me to accomplish in the absence of getting the beautiful Paris views along the way! Smaller portions is key, though, I've found. That second crepe looks yummy. Good luck!
